Thank you to all the featured artists, families and staff that came out last night to celebrate our 2013 Art Show! It was a fun time. If you didn't get a chance to join us, please stop by and check out the artwork. The show comes down on Sunday afternoon. (See earlier post for details.)
Pictures to come soon! A big thank you to Melannie Huber-Cohen, Mary Jane Newbill and Lois Bryant (my mom:) who helped me prepare and hang the show! Congratulations to Baylee (Kindergarten) for creating a wonderful plate for All Fired Up's "I Heart Art" contest!
She is one of the finalists! Please vote if you can (everyday!). Wow! It is almost June. How did that happen?!
Please check out our newly posted artwork by 1st and 5th graders. (More fabulous work by all other grades will be coming this week as well. Look for Kindergarten bird baths, 1st grade "Home" clay frames with family portraits, 2nd grade Hundertwasser cities, 3rd grade still lifes and clay columns, and 4th grade fish prints.) Next week is our annual Short Pump Town Center art show! The show will be on display in the food court area starting May 29th (closes June 2nd). We will celebrate the opening Wednesday, May 30th at 4:30 p.m. Please join us! A happy belated Mother's Day to everyone! Thank you for sharing your "little" artists with me.
Yesterday was also my daughters' 4th birthday. They are growing up too quick! Hello! New displays and gallery work to be uploaded soon! Clay Bird/Bird Baths (K), Elephants inspired by Indian Festival (1st), Hunderwasser Crazy Cities (2), Mixed Media Still Lifes and Clay Columns (3rd), Fish Prints (4th) and Collograph Prints (5th). Please check back soon! My husband and I visited Austin and San Antonio last weekend and had a fabulous time. Both cities are rich with culture, art and music. The picture is from the Austin airport where several guitar sculptures are on view from the Austin Guitartown Project. Really cool! |
